Mondelēz is a multinational confectionery, food and beverage conglomerate with revenue of $35 billion and operations in more than 80 countries. Mondelēz selected Sope for the development and implementation of a capital expenditure project system for new product development and improvements to existing production. The solution was required to allow for projects to be approved and then run through a portal.
Sope worked closely with Mondelēz to conduct a detailed needs analysis. We then developed a SharePoint solution that delivered the entire process, from approval to project delivery and then review. We also used Formotus to develop mobile forms that allowed for the development of an up-to-date asset register, which was integrated into the system.
Approval times for projects have been substantially cut, from four to six weeks to around three to four days! The clean, well-designed interface clearly labels each step of the process, from entering ideas, checking OH&S, safety and other factors (using a simple form), gaining approval (with automatic emailing to the relevant approver, no matter where they are located in Australia or overseas) and then implementation and review. The system is fully integrated with other business systems and the new asset register.
The process is now totally paperless, using Formotus technology to access the asset register from any mobile device, allowing users to photograph, describe and upload an asset quickly and easily.
Management and project staff can easily log in and see what they are spending on each project (and overall), conduct budget forecasts and examine the status of any individual project (as well as access a total overview).
